Third year Written expression is a tutorial-based course (TD) of a weekly schedule of one hour and a half (1h.30). Its program is thematically divided into two terms. The first term deals with essay components and the second term deals with essay methods of development.

UNIT 1: CAUSE/EFFECT ESSAY
The first unit of the second semester deals with the cause/effect method of essay development. Students will find in this unit a general overview of this essay type, its purpose and the patterns of organization. In addition, practices on writing thesis statement and developing the body paragraphs are also available.
A cause-effect essay tells how one event (the cause) leads to another event (the effect).
• It can analyze the ways in which one or more effects result from a particular cause. (Focus-on-Effects Method)
• It can analyze the ways in which one or more causes lead to a particular effect. (Focus-on-Causes Method)
