Analyse different aspects involved in learners' studies for potential research topics.
Formulate a workable research problem pertaining to their field of interest.

Develop skills related to observation, objective reasoning, scientific curiosity, argumentation and openness to discussion.
Prerequisites
Before starting this course, it is recommended for students to:
- Understand the different methods by which knowledge is approached and created.
- Identify the interests of their field of study.

The course is divided into two learning units (chapters) , each unit is treated through pedagogical sequences which allow the assimilation of the concepts and skills provided, they are consolidated with learning activities where the assimilation of concepts and skills is put into practice.
a- Introduction to Research
In this chapter , the main topics of study are basic terminology and fundamental concepts related to academic research. The unit also includes research objectives; the motivation to do research and the reasons that encourage us to learn to do research
b- The Research Problem
This chapter focuses on how to formulate research problems in English studies. It defines the concept and mentions the different considerations that researchers need to take into account when selecting an issue to be addressed. It contains guidelines on how to recognize sources of problem in their field and therefore formulate in a step-by-step manner their preliminary problems.
