By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

· Identify appropriate research topics and research problems.
· Acquire skills related to searching for reliable academic resources.

· Develop skills related to observation, objective reasoning, scientific curiosity, argumentation and openness to discussion.

In this chapter , the main topics of study are basic terminology and fundamental concepts related to academic research. It also includes research objectives and the motives that make people interested in this activity.

4. Research MethodologyThis chapter focuses on how to formulate research problems in English studies. It defines the concept and mentions the different considerations that researchers need to take into account when selecting an issue to be addressed. It contains guidelines on how to recognize sources of research problem in this field of study and therefore assists the students to formulate in a step-by-step manner their preliminary research problems.
